Instagram - Follow This....

With the new release of Instagram for Android phones, I felt the need to jump on the band wagon! So if you're a current Instagram user, be sure to follow me.  My user name can be found as RTechChef. By following, you'll be able to keep up to date on my current visual food misadventures as well as Buttercup's progress.

A Perfect example of how Instagram can make Buttercup look good:

Stage 2 here I come...

So I was busy this past weekend. On Saturday I went and picked up my new toy....

Invidia Catted Downpipe!

I've read quite a bit about trying to keep the exhaust heat inside the pipe. I can't describe in detail what it's all about...but I just know it's good for turbo cars and applications. Knowing that, I headed on down to my local Pep-Boys for some good 'ol DEI Exhaust wrap! I LOVE Pep-Boys. Granted they have terrible customer service, over charge and have employees that know nothing about what they are selling....they do have a gem inside every now and then!
So 50 Yards of Exhaust wrap later...I ended up with this:

I also splurged and went with the DEI stainless ties. I'm not to fond of these. It was my first time using them, and must say, I'm not impressed. I'm thinking I may have to switch to some clamps later down the line.

The install is pretty straight forward. You just need to find all the bolts and remove them from the stock DP. The bolts are easy to find and there are several writeups on how to do it. The best advise I have is make sure your STRONG or have a breaker bar. I had neither, so it took me 4 hours to do the swap. The main problem was, I thought I could get around removing the bellmouth section without having to take my TMIC (Top Mount InterCooler) off. WRONG. So that delayed me a little bit. Then there was the issue of trying to break off all the bolts that held the DP to the turbo. I did use a penetrator spray on it and let it sit for a good 10-15 minutes. That is what I'm hoping led to my success of removing the stock unit. To my surprise the hardest of all the bolts to remove was the hanger bolt on the bottom of the car. My best guess as to why it was harder than the rest, is I had no leverage to get at it. I was laying on my back and hands over my head trying to get it. Finally I gave in and pulled a hammer out and beat the heck out of it till it finally broke free. In the end this is the comparison:

Less restriction and nicer flowing....can't go wrong!

And the best picture I can get of it installed:

On a side note, when your using penetrator on your bolts...wipe the excess off. My car looked like it was on fire in the engine bay the next day when I took it to work. I had to stop at least 2 times because I thought it actually must have caught fire. 2 days later and I can still smell the stuff! I'm hoping a good air freshener will help eliminate it.

After this I went ahead and flashed may stage 2 OTS program from Cobb. I'll get a few more parts put together and then get my pro-tune done. I've one had the chance to get 1 good push on it so far. And with my AP I clocked a 19.6psi reading. I was formerly at a 18.2 max psi. So the new program upped my boost and I can tell for sure. The rumble is a litter more pronounced, especially when starting the car up. I've also been told people notice the car more when I drive by them. So I can safely say the car is louder now because of it. It's not obnoxiously loud however, which is what I was going for.

More to follow.

Chemical Guys/Smartwax LOVE

Well a couple months back I did a little video shoot with Chemical Guys/Smartwax to help showcase some of their products on Buttercup.  I was never able to find the videos until now.  So check them out and see how to clear your ride!

This is on how to clean Buttercup using a waterless ECO-Friendly wash! This was some AWESOME stuff! Only issue is you need a few micro-fiber towels if your car is super dirty.  We used around 6 I think to do buttercup.
If you have filthy wheels...this is the STUFF right here!  Diablo Gel FTW!  I LOVE this stuff.  Works super well.  If you clean your wheels and just need a touch up... this is great.  After the shoot, 2 weeks later I just sprayed it on the wheels, waited a bit, then sprayed it off with water.  Never even touched the face with a cloth or brush.  It pulled it all off without a problem!  Only issue is you go through the bottle in about 2 uses/washes.  They claim you can get 3, but I have pretty dirty wheels, so it only lasted me 2 full washed with a lil bit left to do about 2 wheels.  Granted i'm probably using way more than i'm supposed to.
And when you got all the junk on your car....it's time to Clay.  Here's a great lesson to learn how!  I used to do the circle motion on my last car...and now I've learned the way of the Jedi!  Back and forth!!!!

If you need help getting Smartwax or Chemical Guys products, let me know and I can assist!  By far I LOVE their products! Much better than another company I was sponsored with, that didn't compare to these!
